Ice cream shakes

So my son has been talking about needing and wanting a shake.  Not a major unless there is no ice cream in the freezer or pennys in your pocket.  So the answer has been, "sorry honey, not today."   Sadly something he has been getting used to.  Then two blessings in disguise happened.  Yesterday, as I was leaving our church's lunch program, one of the ladies gave me a halk gallon of cream.  I find it hard to get cream and whne I find it, it is to much for too little.  So I was trying to figure out what I could do with it before it goes bad.  And then I thought "Amen, I can make Ice cream."  We got  a Ice cream maker last year and it has been sitting on the shelf the last few months.  So I am able to make our familly homemade ice cream.  Then I had ordered a food box from a local food help program and brought it home today.  As I opened the box there were some small containers to make a shake "just add milk".  I was able to fix his lunch and give him a shake with it.  He was excited.

I am reminded once again that God provides..even for the little things.

Trial and error

Not sure how long I will maintain this post.  This is something I am just trying out.  I have a energetic son (Josh).  He has blessed us since his early birth.  He is a fighter and we have been blessed to watch him grow in ways we never could have imagined.  He has overcome many obstacles since his birth and continues to do so.  He has just started 1st grade and we are blessed and excited because he loves school.  He started out delayed in his learning and we worked with many teachers to help him grow and we excited last year when he was able to move from a special day class for kids with disabilities to a general education class.

Our 3 yr old daughter (Shelby) is our strong willed child, full of life and exuberance.  Never a dull moment with her.  She is a challenge all by herself and we are learning so much from loving her and carefully molding her without breaking her spirit.

I have experienced much before I married my best friend.  I was a head cook at a Christian Family Camp something I had always wanted to do, my husband was brought back into my life.  That is a story in itself.  We thought just getting married and starting a family were life changing events.  They pale when you are surprised by a 3 month premature child that quickly lets you know, you know nothing about babies as you thought and more than anything you need strength and help from God.

So now almost 7 yrs later I am a stay-at-home-mom, working a business from our home and  learning everyday is a new day and probably will not end the way I had planned but thankful when I can kiss my babies goodnight and know that I have a husband that loves me very much.
